Exterminator in Brossard
Residential sectors, woods and retail
Brossard grew fast after it was founded in 1958: early residential sectors, new neighbourhoods along Bois de Brossard, big retail hubs. Each of these settings draws its own pests. A technician answers 24/7, and the quote, free of charge, follows an on-site assessment.
Founded in 1958, Brossard took its present form through a merger in 1978 and grew during the South Shore's postwar boom. The city is divided into seventeen sectors named by a letter, and the streets in each sector start with that letter. In the first sectors built, houses are now several decades old: soffits, vents and foundations have aged, and wasps, squirrels and mice take advantage.
Bois de Brossard covers close to a thousand hectares, mostly forest and wetlands, part of it protected as a nature reserve, and it belongs to the Mont-Saint-Bruno forest corridor. The City also lists Parc des Sansonnets and the Rivière Saint-Jacques among its natural areas. Homes facing these areas live alongside wildlife: mice in the fall, skunks and raccoons in the yard.
Brossard is also a shopping city. Quartier DIX30, served by the Du Quartier REM station, brings together shops, restaurants, a cinema and performance venues. Wherever food is served and delivered, rodents and cockroaches go for loading docks, garbage rooms and the gaps under counters.
Other areas we serve
What we often see in Brossard
Newer sectors, older houses and businesses do not draw the same pests.
Mice in new neighbourhoods near the woods
New homes built near fields and woods get mice from the fall on, especially when nearby lots are under construction. They come in through utility entrances, foundation joints and poorly fitted garage doors. The inspection locates those openings, and then we close them; our page on sealing entry points explains how.
Skunks and raccoons in the yard
A low porch, a shed on blocks or a brown bin left outside is enough. Skunks dig underneath; raccoons tip the bin and look for shelter in the attic in spring. Skunk removal and raccoon removal each have their own page.
Wasps in soffits and hedges
In summer, wasps settle in the soffits of older houses and in cedar hedges. Steady traffic in and out of the same hole in the siding often means a wasp nest in a wall or soffit. Do not spray the hole up close: the workers defend the nest and can sting in numbers.
Rodents and cockroaches in businesses
Restaurants, grocery stores and food courts need constant attention, with daily deliveries, dumpsters and utility rooms. A regular follow-up schedule can be set with the manager, at the time that suits the business best; see how we handle commercial pest control.
Raccoon rabies and pesticides: what applies in Brossard
Brossard is covered by Québec's ban on moving raccoons, striped skunks, foxes and coyotes while they are alive, a measure taken against raccoon rabies. The ban also applies to companies, whatever the distance, and violations can lead to fines. It keeps being extended by successive orders; the current end date and the municipalities covered are posted on Québec.ca.
The cages you sometimes see in the neighbourhood may belong to the Ministry, which launched a rabies vaccination operation in part of Brossard in October 2026, or to a company. Either way, keep your distance, do not feed the animal and do not free it. Keep your pets indoors or supervised, and have them vaccinated against rabies by your veterinarian, as Québec recommends.
In Brossard, chemical pesticides have been banned since 2003. By-law REG-350 allows low-impact pesticides and biopesticides without a permit; any other product needs a City permit for each application, a proven infestation and proof that other methods were tried. Work done for someone else must be carried out by a contractor registered with the City, the permit has to be displayed in a window facing the street, neighbours get written notice and the work is done in daytime, Monday to Saturday. Indoor extermination work is excluded from this by-law.

Call 514-231-1615Can a raccoon caught in Brossard be released somewhere else?
No. In Brossard, moving a live raccoon is prohibited because of rabies, even over a short distance, and the ban applies to companies too. Québec says a nuisance animal that has been caught can instead be released on site, outside the building. That makes the entrance the key: once the animal has been caged and removed by the rules, we block its way back in; see sealing entry points.
Can I use pesticides on my lawn in Brossard?
Only low-impact pesticides or biopesticides, without a permit. For anything else, By-law REG-350 requires a City permit for each application, a proven infestation and a registered contractor. Before buying a product at the store, read our tips on hiring an exterminator or using store products.
Wasp nest in a hedge in Brossard: do I need a permit?
Often, yes. In Brossard, an insecticide other than a low-impact product applied outdoors needs a City permit, even for a nest, and By-law REG-350 allows treatment after sunset, when the wasps are back in the nest, to be authorized on that permit. Hold off on trimming the hedge: cutting into a nest sets off the whole colony. Before stepping in, we confirm with you what the City requires; our wasp nest page explains our approach.
How much does an exterminator cost for a restaurant in Brossard?
For a restaurant, the price depends mostly on what the inspection turns up: the pest involved, how far it has spread between the kitchen, the storage room and the garbage room, and how often you want follow-up visits. A counter in a shopping centre and a restaurant with its own kitchen and dumpster do not have the same needs. The quote, prepared after an on-site assessment, is free: 514-231-1615.
